Project Life Saver, which helps track individuals who are afflicted with an illness that cause them to wander, is close to being implemented in the town.

Ed Beaulieu, a trustee for The Future of Middleboro Trust, which is sponsoring the program, said training was completed last week for police, fire, and health department personnel.

“It will be up and running very shortly,” said Beaulieu.

Due to its size, Middleboro requires four receivers and they currently have two. The trustees are seeking to raise an additional $4,800 for the receivers.

They will be apprearing on Friday January 29, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $12.00. They are available at Maria’s and at the Law Office of Adam Bond. Scott Brown is coming to Middleborough for a meet and greet. He will be at the Flat Iron Cafe on Saturday January 16, 2010 at 4:45 PM. He will be there for about a half hour.

FOMT Trustees present check to Parks Dept.

The Future of Middleboro Trust presented a check to the Middleboro Parks Department for purchase of a handicap swing for the Peirce Playground. The existing swing had been destroyed by vandals. The swing fully supports the user and has restraints that secure disabled or young children.

The board of trustees would like to thank the Middleboro citizens who attended our fundraisers or donated money.
